Around the Way
A snapshot of anarchist/people of color related stuff from around the web:
Supporting Women Writers: Ana Castillo and Others
WOC PhD continues bringing knowledge on issues of women of color. She’s also been an important voice in the Seal Press debacle. This time, she offers tips for those wanting to support women writers.
Angry Black Woman has delivered another bangin’ installment of her Things You Need to Understand series. A snippet: “When a person or group does something to address the biases and imbalances in our culture, whether it be on a grand scale, in their own sphere of influence, or in themselves, this is a good thing. But doing so isn’t cause for celebration, congratulations, or a party. Why? Because it’s basic human decency. And people shouldn’t be over-praised for doing something they should have been doing in the first place.” Search the site to read them all.
Just Seeds has posted some dope photos of political graf writing on trains.
Curvature notes a recent issue of a “comedian”’s sexual assault of a woman as part of his act. Troubling.
The admittedly idiotic Newsmax attempts to tie the striking May Day longshoremen to mid-1900s Communism and Hitler, concluding they are a national security threat. Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
EDIT: Propers to Crimethinc for pointing to Super Happy Anarcho Fun Pages, the anarchist cartoon series.
